Offline Anesthesia Reference: Procedures, Medications and Diseases

By Conor Early, CRNA, creator of GlottaVue Anesthesia.

Case preparation often starts with a procedure and branches into questions about a medication, a coexisting disease or a laboratory result. GlottaVue's offline anesthesia reference library connects those topics inside the app, helping CRNAs, nurse anesthesia students and other anesthesia providers keep the relevant references together.

This guide updates our September 11 development entry. Updated September 30, 2026.

Move from the procedure to related references

  1. Open a procedure or Case Tips entry for the subject you are studying.
  2. Tap a linked medication, condition or laboratory term in the reference text.
  3. If the term has more than one matching destination, choose the entry you mean.
  4. Return to the original procedure and continue reviewing its context.

Inline links also connect applicable crisis-checklist and reference topics. Matching uses recognizable names and aliases from the installed catalog. A related search keyword does not automatically become a link to a different diagnosis or drug.

What works without internet?

The installed reference text, internal links and their destinations work offline. Bundled reference figures and their captions can also be viewed offline. You can use the offline care-plan builder to organize selected information without making an AI request.

External source websites require internet. Ask a Clinical Question and optional AI synthesis also require an online connection. Offline access to a reference does not mean its linked journal article or source website has been downloaded.

Use the library for focused study

Try one question at a time: review the procedure, open the relevant disease explanation, then review a medication reference in that context. Exact reference favorites let you return to topics you use frequently. The student workspace guide explains favorites, personal study cards and case logs.

A link is a navigation aid. It does not establish that a treatment fits an individual patient, and the presence of a reference is not an interaction check. Review source material and apply your usual clinical and supervisory process.

Illustrations and rhythm learning in the latest beta

The iOS TestFlight 1.6.5 (126) preview expands the illustrated anatomy and disease library and adds a standalone Rhythm center for 3- and 5-lead monitor learning. These updates have their own release notes; public-store versions may differ.

Turn reference review into a structured care plan

When you are ready to organize what you have reviewed, follow the care-plan workflow with PDF and Word export. Keep known case information separate from general reference statements and unanswered questions.
