Beta update: guided rhythm review and pediatric equipment planning

By Conor Early, CRNA, creator of GlottaVue Anesthesia.

Published October 3, 2026. This retrospective covers development completed October 2. Internal beta: iOS version 1.6.5 (127) has completed processing and is confirmed in internal TestFlight testing. The changes below are not being announced as a public App Store or Google Play release.

This build focuses on two practical workflows: working through rhythm observations one step at a time, and carrying pediatric equipment preparation references into a care plan.

Rhythm center asks one question at a time

In Rhythm center > Identify, the new guided workflow starts with pulse and perfusion, then adapts its questions to the observations you enter. It builds on the 3- and 5-lead monitoring reference, with help, example strips and intervention references available along the way.

Use the back/edit controls to correct an earlier answer. Answers that depend on it are cleared so an old response does not silently carry into a different path. The Pulse lost, Now unstable and Pulse returned controls let the workflow respond to a change in the situation. An observation you cannot establish remains unresolved.

The guided workflow runs offline and uses observations entered by the user. It does not automatically interpret an ECG photograph or video, and its reference possibilities are not a confirmed diagnosis. Pediatric guidance remains separate. During an emergency, follow the appropriate response and call for help without delaying care to complete the tool.

Pediatric equipment references follow the plan

The equipment update adds clearer starting examples for pediatric preparation, including oral airways, face masks and selected vascular-access and catheter references. Device-specific, fit and indication checks stay alongside the examples; a starting size is not a patient-specific equipment order.

In the care-plan builder, enter the child's known age with explicit units and the weight when available. Review the pediatric equipment preparation section in the offline draft and under Plan decisions in the PDF or Word export. The same preparation text is included in the handoff when you choose optional AI synthesis.

Missing or ambiguous age does not cause the builder to assume a pediatric case. Rows that require weight are omitted when a valid weight was not supplied. The list does not imply that every device is needed, and manufacturer sizing can differ. Review the actual device and individual fit before use.

For the surrounding workflow, see building and exporting an anesthesia care plan and optional AI synthesis and review.

What this beta milestone means

Internal TestFlight availability confirms that the build is ready for the existing internal testing group. It does not establish independent clinical validation. Software, layout and export checks have been completed; clinical review remains a separate step. This update changes the workflow and preparation references without adding new drug-dose calculations.
